Enter Custom Foods into the Food Journal to speed up logging time!
Tips for SUCCESS!!
- Write down the 10-15 foods that you eat most often.
- Log in, click on Food Journal and conduct a search for each of your foods. You can do this by clicking ADD next to any meal. Decide whether or not your item is already available in the food library. If your item is not currently available or if you feel that the current entry does not accurately reflect the macro/micronutrients of your food (You can decide this by PREVIEWING its contents.) then place a check on your sheet of paper next to the food that you intend to "enter".
- Once you have determined which of your foods need to be entered as Custom Foods, go to your pantry and get each of the foods. You will need to be looking at the food labels when you record your entry.
- From the Welcome screen, go to the Other Tools menu, scroll down to Custom Foods, and click on GO!
- Click on New Food.
- Fill in the form.
- Enter the information exactly as it appears on the label. Use the serving size that is specified on the label even if you typically eat a smaller serving. This is because you will be able to change your portion size later.
- Enter the foods with the brand name following the type of food. (for example: macaroni and cheese, KRAFT). Use all capital letters to indicate brand name. Avoid using parentheses and apostrophes.
- When indicating serving size, write the words "serving of" before the number (for example: "serving of 12 crackers" or "serving of 2 TBSP")
- Save your entry.
- Your entry will now be searchable from your food journal. Other members will not see your entries.
- Repeat the process until you are confident that the foods that you eat most often are included in the journal.
- Use the EDIT button to change your entry if you make a mistake.
This should speed up your daily logging and make your USA EAT FIT experience a more pleasant one.
Best of Luck to you!
